1. Storage To avoid scratching your jewelry, each piece should have its own compartment. If you store your jewelry long-term, protect it from light and air by keeping it in a dark compartment. Air pollution can tarnish jewelry, and light and heat will accelerate the process of oxidization. 2. Cleaning your silver jewelry All you need to do is regularly use a bit of soapy water or lemon juice, rinsing with water afterwards, and drying with a soft cloth. You can also use a brush with very soft bristles. Never use a paper towel, as this will scratch your jewelry. Never use abrasive products on your jewelry, such as cleaners for silver place settings. 3. Cleaning your gold jewelry You should use soapy water or alcohol. Don’t use ammonia, mercury or iodine… if you’re not sure, don’t hesitate to contact our customer service at contact@overso.fr. 4. Cleaning your stones Use soapy water, not detergent, which could affect the brilliance of your stones. 5. Wear your jewelry regularly Your jewelry looks better on you than it does in the bottom of a drawer! 6. Personal grooming and jewelry Take off your jewelry before taking a bath or a shower, and remove your rings before washing your hands; this will avoid soap buildup. Try to contact getting cosmetics or perfume on your jewelry, as they will attract dust to the crevices in your jewelry. 7. Chlorine Never get chlorinated water (pool water, for example) on your jewelry. 8. Household cleaners Don’t wear your jewelry while doing housework, even if you are wearing gloves. The harsh and abrasive chemicals in household cleansers can still damage your jewelry. 9. Flip it! Don’t forget to take advantage of your reversible jewelry by wearing it with either side out. Before reversing it, wipe it with a soft cloth, like one you might use for cleaning your eyeglasses or a touch screen. |
